The Place Where Time Goes...

I have no idea where that is but the last two weeks have passed me by. I've missed checking out out my favourite places but Em and I spent last week in town, doing town things like breakfast in Degraves Street most mornings, Craft Victoria (what lovely things), the Charles Blackman exhibtion, Heide Museum of Modern Art. I love reading and re-reading about the lives of Sunday Reed, Joy Hester, Albert Tucker and John Reed...the 'Melbourne version of the Bloomsbury set'. Sunday and John Reed lived in Heide - the house is still there. I love the library. It's quite small but the walls are lined with books. We also went to the Maurice Sendak exhibition at the Jewish Museum. I loved seeing prints from his book Where The Wild Things Are. I flipped out when I saw a huge book called The Art of Maurice Sendak by Selma Lanes...with a lot of his work displayed on huge pages. Em, the sweetheart, got it for me.

Accidentally saw the Australian Idol contestants at Federation Square...me and about 4,000 eight year olds!

Here are some more pics from another craft book - this one is all about paper.

It's nice to be back and when I get a moment, I'm gonna make myself whatever the collective noun for a whole lot of these are. Thanks Nicole.

Sounds as though you had a great time arting it up at the galleries. I'm due for a gallery crawl this weekend - can't wait. I wish I could see all the awesome Melbourne shows though - I'm so unhappy about missing the Picasso exhibit. *sighs*

Don't ask me where time goes - I've no idea!
