Last days of summer.

Here are some of my Dad's tomatoes. They aren't very big but they are so sweet & with a tiny sprinkle of sea-salt and a generous grind of pepper - they are divine. Summer is literally burning itself out. The the next few days are going to be hot, hot, hot. So if you're this side of the sun, hope you have a cool weekend.

Mmmmm homegrown tomatoes. I am, shockingly, not a fan of tomatoes at all but I think that's because I grew up eating really bland yucky pale ones that were always cold and squishy. My husband is a wannabe Jamie Oliver and has recently started gardening. We had a small crop of his (organic!) tomatoes about a month ago, and they were fantastic! Maybe there is hope for me + bruschetta after all...
