Holiday Reading
We've had a bookish Christmas. Lots of time spent reading in the shade, in cafes, the dinner table, the couch and bed. Em's turning pages with F.Scott Fitzgerald and I've been trapped by Gertrude and Alice (Two Lives). I can tell when Emma is reading Santaland Diaries by David Sedaris because she laughs so loud.
I love the particular glow of an old-fashioned Christmas light - the sort that gives me no peace because they're so "vintage"...I'm convinced they'll burn the house down so I spend every 20 minutes making sure they don't get too hot, melt the tree, start a spark fire and have us fleeing the house - screaming.

Tokyo: Toys
On the back of a bus, on a lolly-wrapper or a paperbag, a fence, a sign or a book-cover - cute is EVERYWHERE in Tokyo and so are toys. Here's just a few snaps. Enjoy.
This is a photo of the Re-Ment display at LOFT - a department store with a pretty big range. I don't know a lot about these tiny toys but the detail is amazing. They are sold in blind boxes, so you never quite know what you'll get but they release them in sets - tea-parties or clothing or little woodland creatures. All cute, all the time...oh and yes, I think about bought about 11 boxes....

Tokyo: Fashion
When I was going through all the photos (ahem...400 of them) I noticed lots of different themes - so I'm going to post a series of collections beginning with Fashion.
When it comes to style, Tokyo is just amazing. It's such a visual culture, whether it's a coulple waiting for a train or a Prada store window in the Ginza, everyone has their own particular look.
